The information below comes from the PSAC 901 Food Support Fund website.
The food support fund is an emergency fund created in response to the increasing food insecurity of graduate student workers. This fund aims to aid members who experience financial need or emergency that diverts their resources from food. Due to the ad-hoc nature of the fund, its budget is limited and unable to address the chronic needs of its members. Applications are reviewed weekly.
Members experiencing other hardships and medical or mental expenses should apply for the Mental Health and Hardship Bursary offered by PSAC 901.
What can I get?
Each successful applicant will receive $75 and $25 for every additional person in their household (partner, children). The funds will be available until the depletion of the allocated emergency budget.
Eligibility
Applicant is a member of Unit 1 A Unit 1 member includes anyone who meets the following criteria:
1. is currently employed as a TA, RA, or TF
2. has been employed as a TA, RA, or TF in the last 8 months
3. has a confirmed TA, RA, or TF position beginning in the next 4 months
